Gravely ZT52 HD - Changing hydraulic fluid - Lawn Mower Forum

11/07/2020  Pete S, Welcome to the growing Gravely family on this forum!!! ... The one thing I found, use the Factory Hydro Oil Fiters when it comes to tranys. I have seen Wix, Stens and others filters on HydroGear tranys. They cost the customers $1200 for each unit. Motor oil you can get away with, but transmission, stick with factory recommend oils and filters. Reactions:

09/10/2020  14. Messages. 59. Jun 19, 2020. #4. I changed the hydrolic fluid but did not change filters, etc. just the fluid and it takes more then 1 quart per side as the manual states. I bought 3 quarts and used about a quarter of the 3 quart to get both sides up to the level necessary. If I would have changed filters it probably would have taken more.

23/05/2017  Gravely with this transmission is a decent machine for modest mowing jobs, but like everyone in the field they have price point units and dealers that push a sale without a good understanding of the buyer's intended use (or even a good grasp of the product itself). For an average person to get 5 years use from one is about the expected life of that transmission.
